Chorlton Civic Society meets on the second Tuesday of every odd numbered month (January, March, May, July, September, November). Meetings are in the meeting room at Chorlton Library at 7.30pm and usually last about one and a half hours. Anyone's welcome - you don't have to be a member.
There are many reasons to join the society!
If you have any concerns about the amount of FLATS appearing in big blocks all over Chorlton, the new TRAFFIC SCHEME recently finished in Chorlton, new LICENSING LAWS and what you can do about them, CRIME, GRAFFITI and how to get rid of it, RECYCLING, LOCAL HISTORY, local RESIDENTS GROUPS, PLANNING, our new CONSERVATION AREA, TREES, NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH, schools and EDUCATION in the area, FREE TRADE status, getting a GRANT for your project, local EVENTS, PARKING, Chorlton’s COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT POLICY for the new planning system, joining a project to make BEECH ROAD CHAPEL into a community centre rather than a restaurant, stopping the MASONIC HALL being demolished to make way for a block of flats, having a say in LOCAL POLITICS, or anything else affecting Chorlton and its occupants, then come along or join! Membership is just £4.00 (not £3.50!) a year. Make Chorlton a better place to live and work.
Anyone can jon the society - even non-Chorlton residents.
Annual membership subscription runs from AGM to AGM (March to March).
