Chorlton Civic Society was founded in 1989 for the benefit of all people living and working in all parts of Chorlton-cum-Hard. It is an independent, non-political and non-profit making organisation, run by volunteers. Our members, and the committee that represents them, address all aspects of Chorlton social and economic life. This includes: - reviewing, (and sometimes opposing) planning developments and applications
- Caring for and improving the local environment
- Supporting local businesses
- addressing tranport issues- everything from the new Metro to parking & pavements
- supporting local campaigns, such as the revitalisation of Chorlton's shopping centre
- organising & supporting local events- including History Walksand events in Beech Road Park
Our meetings (starting at 7.30pm) are currently held in Chorlton Library on the second Tuesday of alternate months, starting in January each year. Meetings are free and open to all
Annual membership is £4 or £2 for concessions. Members receive six newsletters each year, either delivered or via email. |
